Sandy Tan

Sandy Tan grew up in Klang where she received her early education. She excelled in her studies from a young age and was named the Best Overall Student of Methodist Girls' School, Klang in 1991. Sandy pursued the A-Levels at Taylor's College, Subang Jaya before furthering her studies at the London School of Economics & Political Science, University of London and Nuffield College, University of Oxford where she earned the BSc (Econs) Econometrics & Mathematical Economics and the MPhil in Economics, respectively. From 1999 to 2003, Sandy lectured at the Sepang Institute of Technology. From 2004 to 2008, she worked for 2 different organizations in the area of administration and research.

Sandy made her first foray into the world of public speaking when she joined D’Utama Toastmasters Club in 2004. She subsequently joined Kelab Pidato Perdana Toastmasters Club in 2006 which used Malay (bahasa Melayu) as the medium of speech delivery. When Kelab Pidato Perdana became independent in 2009, Sandy was appointed the Chief Coordinator. Under her leadership and supervision, Kelab Pidato Perdana expanded from having only one club in Kuala Lumpur to having 20 clubs across Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore. Sandy was officially made the President of KPP after it was registered with the Registrar of Societies. Sandy is a still a member of Toastmasters where she constantly upgrades her skills.

In 2008, Sandy set up Proskills Trainers as a training provider specializing in public speaking, communication and language programmes. In 2014, the business was upgraded to company status under the name of Epic Training Sdn. Bhd. and expanded its repertoire of courses and team of trainers. With her many years of experience in this field, Sandy has distilled the essence of public speaking mastery and come up with the Triple 8 Formula for Public Speaking™. It is a ground-breaking approach that is set to make waves in public speaking circles. “The Science of Public Speaking” is the name of the training programme based on this formula as well as the title of Sandy’s book. Sandy also created the Eightfold Path for an Effective Presentation™ which focuses specifically on presentation skills

Besides public speaking and presentation skills, Sandy conducts training programmes for English. Her favourite subject is English pronunciation. She is also the coach for the English-language branch of Kelab Pidato Perdana. Sandy is a HRDF Certified Trainer. She hopes to develop herself and other trainers to serve their mission well.

Fadzly Johar's education blossomed in a premier boarding secondary school in Ipoh, in which he graduated with the prestigious Best Student Award in Physics in 2005. He went on to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering, where his deep interest in Physics sparked and enabled him to be the sole recipient of UTM’s Foundation Scholarship.

His working life began at Dyson Malaysia as an engineer and within 3 years he became the youngest integration lead that presides over a group of cross team engineers including senior engineers, to deliver cutting-edge Dyson products.

In his free time, Fadzly dabbles in public speaking with his involvement in Toastmasters. He is a member and current President of CIMA Johor Toastmasters Club, a club that has been achieving President’s Distinguished Club award (highest award for clubs in Toastmasters International) for 8 consecutive years. He also actively takes part in contests in Toastmasters and was crowned as the Area G2 Champion for International Speech & Table Topics Contests in 2016. Currently, he is the Area G2 Director overseeing 5 Toastmasters clubs in Johor Bahru and in this capacity, he frequently gave public speeches for various occasions.

His exposure in Toastmasters has ignited his interest in training. His repertoire in training includes events for in-house trainer for various engineering sharing sessions in Dyson, Kelab Pidato Perdana (Johor Bahru branch), Dyson’s Corporate Social Responsibilities activities to reach out to secondary school students in JB to encourage them to get into engineering fields. He is also certified as trainer for HRDF programmes.

Fadzly has great interest in personality profiling, creative problem solution and numismatic.
